Natalie + Jake
Earlier this year, I felt inspired to put together an elopement styled shoot on our ranch. It could not have come together more perfectly. I pushed myself to go with a deeper color palette than I’m used to for my styled shoots and Nancy with Rhodesia Flower just nailed it! I dream of someday shooting real weddings on our property and while it might be a long ways down the road, I’ll still keep planning fun shoots to tide me over until that is a reality!
I met my models on Instagram and we became fast friends!
Natalie emailed me right away and said that she and her boyfriend (at the time) would love to model! I was instantly drawn to their picture and her words so I said, “Let’s do it!” They traveled down to South Bend and we had the most magical afternoon! Shaun (my Husband) even came along for the fun! One of my local friends Jimmy said yes to being our preacher and Maggie with Maggie Kay Events helped me plan the whole thing! It was a true DREAM TEAM and it was honestly pretty special to have my man out there with us and for him to see what I do on a shoot like this.
I love styled shoots because the pressure is OFF. I love wedding days BUT I love the slow paced, no pressure and relaxed vibe on a shoot like this. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, showcase vendors, and bring a vision to life creatively.
A few weeks later, Jake got down on one knee and asked Natalie for forever!
Of course she said yes… and guess what?! I’m headed to NASHVILLE in October to photograph their engagement session! See why these shoots are SO FUN? You just never know what will transpire! They had so much fun on this styled shoot that they’re sending me all the way to Nashville to continue making memories through adventures and beautiful photographs and I cannot wait. Plane tickets are purchased and I’m officially counting down the days to see these two love birds, explore Nashville together and take some GORGEOUS photographs in the Smokey Mountains.
