Website Launch | Julia Glukhoy | Website Design for Photographers and Creatives

November was an exciting month, including the website launch of Julia Glukhoy!  With 2018 upon us, I'm making an effort to share more of the OTHER side of my business when I'm not out taking pictures.  I'm a Squarespace Website Designer for Photographers (and other creatives!)  Julia fell under the "other" department as she is not a photographer but a fiber artist and illustrator.

Hulten Family | Magnuson Park Seattle, Washington

Have I ever told you how much I love Magnuson Park in Seattle?  Well, I do!  The last time I was there was for a beautiful senior session.  When Katy told me she wanted to take pictures at Magnuson Park for their session, I said "YES!"  The community garden is so cute and so perfect for sessions.  It was a sunny day all day and then when it was time for pictures the cloud cover came on strong but I reassured Katy and Eric that I absolutely LOVE shooting in overcast weather.

How to Get Your Instagram Feed on Brand

I've been on Instagram for as long as I can remember... long before I ever had a business.  Instagram has always been a love, but I never really understood it until I did start my own business and the power of marketing myself online.   It took me awhile to get the hang of it, which included some serious trial and error with how I crop images for my feed, what I post, and HOW I post!  I'm still trying new things here and there, but I have learned a system that works for growing my audience and also finding the balance of not obsessing over my phone.

This shoot is honestly what dreams are made of for me as a wedding photographer!  As many of you know, owning my own wedding venue is up there on my BIG DREAM list... I don't know what it looks like or how I'm going to get there, but mark my words today, it will happen someday.  When the planning for this styled shoot was in the works, I had a general idea of how it would look, but I honestly had no idea.  I gave the girls at Bixby + Pine my Pinterest inspirational images and told them to run with the rest.  I wanted blush, lots of greenery, and pretty models!

Saying Goodbye to Fall with Riley Mae

don't know WHAT it is about FALL time, but it is just my favorite.  It's probably the pumpkin spice lattes, changing colors on the trees and crisp air that makes me fall in love with the season over and over again with each passing year.  Riley and I went on a little adventure when I saw the beautiful sun outside... calling our names!  Of course I wanted a photo opportunity, too!  I dressed Riley in a new little dress I found on Zulily!

A Beautiful Irish Wedding in the Fall | Cashmere, Washington | Kara and Saun

Kara and Saun's love story all started on a snowy day at Mission Ridge: one snowboarding lesson, one bruised tailbone, and one Mike's Hard Lemonade later - for Kara's 21st birthday - they didn't fall in love BUT fast forward two weeks, at the ever classy Applebee's Bar, they exchanged numbers. Thus began an emotional adventure of "I like you" to "I have big feelings for you" to "I love you" to "will you marry me?" on the Cliffs of Moher in just eight short years.
