When Amanda’s inquiry hit my inbox, I couldn’t help but feel thrilled about the opportunity to hopefully be her and Chris’s wedding photographer. She was one of those brides-to-be who has followed my for a long time and when she contacted me, she was already 100% set on being an #ercbride. That is the most humbling feeling for me as a photographer when a bride comes to me without seeing any of my packages or β€œprice tag”, and just knows that they want to work together. That’s what I work hard for with this little business of mine β€” to create experiences that my clients will remember forever and to be so much more than just a photographer to them when it comes to their wedding experience.

We planned a beautiful engagement session at Rose Ranch and given their options, they opted for the main barn after seeing another couple’s engagement session, Ellie + Ryan!

It could not have been more perfect (minus the mosquitos, lol)! But really, where we live, weather is SO unpredictable so when a session is planned I can’t help but do all the happy dances when the forecast calls for sun. Their evening engagement session was a little breezy in the beginning but quickly calmed down and provided one of the most beautiful sunsets!

Amanda and Chris met in Tillamook, Oregon. They met when Amanda was working as a dental assistant and from that first encounter, they began talking and the rest is history! Their first date was after about three weeks of talking in Canon Beach! They went for a walk, looked at Haystack Rock (which is so beautiful if you haven’t already seen it!), then stopped for a drink at the Driftwood. When I heard about their first date, it truly sounded like my kind of date, and made me feel even more connected to them as a couple! These two love spending time together whether it’s hunting, fishing, camping, searching for treasures on the beach with Amanda’s daughter Chance, or watching Sweet Home Alabama on a Saturday night!

The Proposal Story, from Amanda’s perspective:

β€œI kind of had a feeling he was going to propose because we had been talking about it previously. We were at my moms opening presents Christmas morning and he gave me my gift from him. I opened it and it was a Diamond bow for hunting. "I know it's not quite the diamond you were expecting" I was very excited but honestly I thought it would be a ring! All of the presents were gone except one that was wrapped in newspaper and had a newspaper bow on top. Chance grabbed it for Chris and they started to open it together. At this point I had realized I wasn't getting engaged so I wasn't really expecting anything to be in this box. They started pulling out tissue paper, strips of newspaper, an empty bottle with jelly beans in it and finally an envelope. Chris opened the envelope and handed something to Chance and then she brought it over to me and said "I want you to get married to Chris" and then gave me my ring! It was so sweet and I was so surprised.”

I loved witnessing the love and connection between these two (and little Chance!) Chance joined the session for a little bit in the beginning but her grandparents took her home so we could focus the rest of the session on them as a couple! It was evident that these two share a special relationship and I’m literally counting down the days to their winter wedding later this year in Tillamook, Oregon! It’s going to be amazing.

Enjoy this peek into Amanda and Chris’s beautiful Pacific Northwest engagement session! I can’t wait for the wedding!
