Stephanie + Donnie

Stephanie and Donnie threw one gorgeous garden party for their outdoor nuptials in Eastern Washington. Ombré blues, along with shades of blush, and gold were beautiful accents against the eucalyptus greenery and chic decor throughout. There was a cloud of smoke from wildfires throughout the entire day which was definitely spooky but made for absolutely magical light. You never wish for fire, obviously, but that LIGHT.

Getting to know Stephanie and Donnie leading up to their big day has been a true joy. I mean, their engagement session was simply perfection and I just knew the wedding would be, too! I actually went to high school with these two, but they were a couple of grades above me so we weren’t in the same social circles. I loved seeing so many familiar faces during the wedding which was one big #blastfromthepast. I love to incorporate words directly from my brides in my posts, so I’m going to hand it over to Stephanie to tell you a bit more about the wedding and details that went into such a magical day in the Wenatchee Heights!

Saying yes to the dress:

Our first appointment on Sunday was at Nordie’s, and all of my friends had told me they didn’t think Nordstroms had a good selection, so I didn’t have high hopes. But my bridal consultant brought me back, and the first dress was really awesome and unique, and I started getting really excited. And then my consultant comes back and tells me that they are having a trunk show and that the designer was wondering if she could bring a few of her dresses back for me to try on. Of course, I said yes.

And so the first dress Olia (the designer) brought back for me was the one. What made it even more special was that she is filming her own “Say Yes to the Dress” episodes for her YouTube channel, and the whole experience was filmed!! She promises to not post it until I have the wedding, but I am so excited to be able to go back and watch and relive the experience. I am obsessed with the dress. I love that it has the touch of blush, making it so unique. One of the must-haves was that I could move and dance in it too. It’s very comfortable.

Wedding theme and inspiration:

The theme for this wedding was a romantic garden party. I wanted lush, loose florals in soft pink, peach, and cream. Lots of greenery and eucalyptus. Stephanie wanted candelabras and tall centerpieces to add drama. The color palette was ombré blues, with peach, blush, gold, and cream accents.

Advice from the bride:

Get a wedding planner/coordinator! It is worth EVERY penny! Not only for you let sake, but your mother’s. That’s actually why Donnie and I even pursued getting a day-of coordinator in the first place. We wanted our moms to not stress or be running around. Colleen has been such a calming presence in the whole process. She sends me to-do lists each month to help me stay on track, but also it helps me not get overwhelmed with everything that needs to get done.
