Amanda + Chris
Amanda and Chris tied the knot last month just before Christmas in beautiful Tillamook, Oregon! We weren’t sure what the weather was going to do and luckily, we only got a few showers! If you look closely on the wedding party photos, you’ll see some raindrops! Honestly, it wouldn’t be a proper Pacific Northwest wedding if there weren’t a few raindrops.
I blogged their engagement session this past summer, so to learn more about their dating story and engagement, click right here!
Their wedding day couldn’t have gone any smoother. It was a treat to witness their family and friends and the special relationships within their circle of loved ones. Amanda was truly glowing all day and Chris couldn’t keep his eyes off of her. It’s been such a joy getting to know these two since I first came in contact with Amanda.
She told me that she’s dreamed of me being her wedding photographer since she was in high school… whaaaaat?! Talk about the sweetest compliment ever. She’s truly a gem and Chris is a lucky man to now call her his wife!
Amanda has a daughter named Chance who is Riley’s age and the cutest little girl! I had so much fun snapping pictures of her throughout the day. She is one loved little girl, that’s for sure! I think a highlight for me was during the ceremony when Chris surprised everyone with presenting Chance with her own ring. Let’s just say there weren’t many dry eyes in the house during that precious moment!
Winter weddings are amazing, but also hold their own set of challenges — like lighting. Amanda and Chris were adamant about not wanting a First Look. Trust me, I respect this decision 150% and never fight it … unless it’s winter! Given their timeline and ceremony time, not having a First Look would have guaranteed all their portraits would have been in the dark and on flash. Totally fine, but not super ideal when majority of my couples book me for light and airy, naturally lit photographs. We came down to the wire when they ultimately decided that a First Look was a good idea. I’m so glad because their portraits are absolutely gorgeous! Obviously, I’m hired to work with any situation and I definitely would have made it work, but it just wouldn’t have had the same outcome that you’ll see in the photos!
Anyway, I will stop rambling and get you onto browsing through their beautiful wedding photos!
And to you, Amanda and Chris, thank you. I absolutely loved your wedding and everything that came with it — including getting to know you both over the past year plus! You once again reminded me of why I love being a photographer and that chasing this crazy dream was totally worth it.
