Katie + Matt
I am finally getting these beautiful photos on the blog and I’m SO excited! I just delivered their final wedding gallery so things are a little backwards but that’s okay! Ahhh… Katie and Matt’s beautiful wedding in Bellevue was a dream! I want to officially introduce Mr. and Mrs. Duchemin! Katie and Matt live in San Antonio, Texas and found me online!
They still live in Texas but simply wanted to tie the knot in Washington State and picked the robinswood house in bellevue!
Katie is an environmental specialist and Matt is a locomotive engineer. They met through a mutual friend and were casual acquaintances for about a year. Katie was living in Victoria TX at the time and would come up to San Antonio to visit her friend and that would involve running into Matt every so often. When she moved to San Antonio Matt asked her on a date and they have been inseparable ever since! They started dating in August 2015, got engaged in November 2017 and officially tied the knot on August 11, 2018! This is also my parent’s anniversary which makes it even more special for me as their photographer!
Katie and Matt’s wedding colors were grey, dusty blue and blush. Her vision was a simple summery wedding and she wanted lots of greenery and pretty flowers with light colors. They hired Bixby and Pine for all the florals and they were absolutely stunning!
This wedding was so much fun! I also absolutely adore their family and will never forget dancing under the lights to the best music, eating delicious lemon chicken, shrimp, salad, roasted veggies and wrapping up the evening with delicious desert!
When I asked Katie what her best advice is for brides planning their own wedding she said, “Keep it small and get a wedding planner!” She and Matt worked with Willow and Ivy Events and Alex was absolutely incredible. I LOVED getting to know her during Katie and Matt’s special day and I am crossing my fingers that we get to work together again in the future! I also adored their DJ, Hunter Quinn! He kept the party alive and oh so much fun!
