Gracie + Kenny

Now that my wedding season is coming to an end (I still have a few this upcoming winter but until then I have a pretty good break!), I’m back at the blog to show you a wedding I photographed recently of a local couple that I simply LOVE! Gracie and Kenny are quite honestly the real deal. These two are high school sweethearts and have been together for nearly 11 years.

Of course, growing up in tiny South Bend, Gracie and Kenny had always known each other, but, something about that summer changed their lives forever. On September 16th, 2007, Kenny made it 'official' by asking Gracie to be his girlfriend. The condition being, 'it can't be anything too serious during football season'. Fast forward through high school graduations, college educations, job changes, puppy additions, home purchasing, and so much more, Gracie and Kenny are still just as happy and in love as they were back during those sweet summer nights.

Their love story was present throughout the entire day and just how bonded these two are with each other and their families. There were a lot of tears and happy laughter throughout the day! It melted my heart during Gracie and her Dad’s first look as well as Gracie and Kenny’s. I think my absolute favorite thing about the entire day is that when Gracie was young, they drove by this barn and Gracie told her parents that she would someday get married there. Her parents laughed and fast-forward oh so many years, that’s exactly what happened!

Gracie and Kenny’s wedding vision was to have plum, grey, and hints of yellow throughout and it was beautiful. My friend and florist Nancy did an amazing job with all the florals but DUH, she’s always amazing. I hope you love these images as much as I do!

And to Gracie and Kenny, thank you for trusting in me to document this special day in your lives. I can’t wait to watch your relationship continue to grow and flourish! Your day was absolutely magical and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it! Love you guys!

Gracie also has some advice for any brides planning a wedding:

β€œDON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF! This has been my mantra. Flowergirl doesn’t want to wear shoes? Cool! The groomsmen all have different dress shoes? Whatever! At the end of the day, the wedding is about the love between the bride and groom. That is the only thing I want my guests to remember: how much we love each other.”
