Celebrating 2 years of marriage in beautiful Leavenworth, Washington
I had the incredible honor of photographing my best friends wedding (aka my sister) back in July 2017! It’s been so amazing to watch their love continue to unfold, and grow — daily.
They are so ridiculously in love, it’s refreshing and inspiring.
I recently traveled over to Eastern Washington to visit my hometown, see a bunch of friends, attend a wedding, and simply relax by Nana and Papa’s pool! It was a glorious vacation that I still have a suntan to show for! I had hoped to fill a few more portrait sessions while home, but ended up not — which was actually a total blessing because it kept most of my evenings free to just be with my people and let’s be honest — less editing!
With that being said, I still wanted to get up the Icicle and I couldn’t think of anyone better to invite other than my sister Cait and her man, Nick. The best part is that in just the past few weeks, two close friends of theirs have told them that getting photos taken with their dogs is a MUST. I had no idea these conversations happened when I called them about portraits with the pups (who aren’t pups anymore! Jasper is 10 and Stella is 8!)
The spot where we took these is exactly where they had their first date… I mean come on — #allthefeels. I will never forget chatting with Cait after their first date and her telling me about this guy she really liked. Look at them now!
So we ventured up to Leavenworth to soak in all the glory of the Icicle River this time of year.
Riley was my “assistant” and I absolutely love any opportunity to take her on an adventure to see her mama do what she loves — take pictures. I hope you love these as much as I do! We wrapped up this shoot with a roadside picnic in their new van! They’ve been working hard on it for several months now and it’s not done, but wow, it’s awesome! Van life is a real thing and I totally understand why!
